engaged. The corrosion on the 4 exposed threads was caused by the short circuit from

the leaking connection.



(Above) Example of a cable connector that did not have the locking sleeve fully

engaged with the sonde connector. Water infiltrated the sonde connector and caused a

short that corroded the cable connection from the inside.
